His songs include "Footprint of the Ghost," "The Long Breath," "Shattered Sigh," and "Red Ribbons," which introduces the idea of a "vamp track," or an alternate version of a song only the true undead can hear (living vamps can't hear it unless they're a scion).
Protagonist of the series, Rachel Morgan, is both a fan and a friend of Takata.
The character first appeared in the second novel in the series, The Good, The Bad, and The Undead, 2005.
