Singing hillbilly from the 1937 film Sing While You're Able. His accidental run-in with wealthy toy manufacturer C. William Williams (Harry C. Bradley) and his daughter Joan (Toby Wing) sets him on the path to stardom, as they invite him to sing on the radio program they sponsor. However, shenanigans prevent his debut.
