Rock band mentioned in the 1975 novel The Eye in the Pyramid, the first book in Robert Shea and Robert Anton Wilson’s insane Illuminatus! trilogy. They've come to the Bavarian city of Ingolstadt to participate in the Walpurgisnacht rock festival.

Dawn was breaking; the Nine Unknown Men, most mysterious of all rock groups, ceremonially donned their football helmets and faced the East to chant:

There is only ONE God: He is the SUN God: Ra! Ra! Ra!

The name is a reference to the 1923 novel The Nine Unknown by Talbot Mundy, about a secret society thousands of years old entrusted with secret knowledge.
