Born Jacqueline Tavarez, she was a singer/superhero developed by Marvel Comics and RCA to create a crossover comic/music media property. They hired an actress of the same name to portray her in real life and even put out an album. It wasn't successful.

Her mother was also a musician, but died due to alcoholism.

Nightcat was injected with a drug that gave her cat-powers including razor sharp claws and night vision.
