Otherwise unnamed protagonist of the 1975 song "Shooting Star" by Bad Company from the album Straight Shooter. This classic rock ballad outlines the rise of Johnny from Beatles-inspired school boy who then "... made a record, went straight up to number one."

Then however, he comes to a bad end: "Johnny died one night, died in his bed. Bottle of whiskey, sleeping tablets by his head."
