Older singer at the Diamond Horseshoe club of the title of the 1945 musical film Diamond Horseshoe. Actually Joe Davis Senior, his son, Joe Davis Junior (played by real singer Dick Haymes), shows up six months from graduating med school wanting to chuck it all and become a singer like dad.

Blinkie (Phil Silvers) gets him to sing as a guest at the Footlights Club.
