Chubby Checkers
A bat version of real singer Chubby Checker, of course.
From the children's picture book Bats Around the Clock written by Kathi Appelt and illustrated by Melissa Sweet (HarperCollins, 2000). He takes part in Click Dark's American Batstand 12 hour dance party marathon television broadcast. It sounds horrible to watch, much less participate in, due to the fact it goes on for TWELVE HOURS. And the dances only change on the hour.
Note the difference in the plural and singular versions of the last names of the real and fictional singers- did the author do it on purpose, or get the real singer's name wrong by accident? Hmmm.
An unnamed Elvis-type bat also plays. You know it's Elvis because of the blue suede shoes.
