Featuring real-life rocker Sebastian Bach (of Skid Row), Hep Alien made regular appearances on The WB network television series Gilmore Girls.

The show tracks secondary character Lane Kim's secret rock-fueled rebellion against her religious upbringing. She starts drumming, and eventually posts a "drummer seeks band" flyer, meeting guitarist Dave Rygalski in the "Application Anxiety" episode (October 8, 2002). They form this local band in Stars Hollow, Connecticut, and eventually end up touring Seventh Day Adventist churches.

Gil (Sebastian Bach) first appeared in "The Festival of Living Art" episode (4 November 2003), after Dave left for college, and the band needed a new guitarist. Gil's last name is never given.

The band also appeared in the 2016 reunion miniseries, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, shown covering Joe Jackson's "I'm the Man."

  • Lane Kim (Keiko Agena), drums
  • Dave Rygalski (Adam Brody), guitar
