Jump to navigationJump to searchThe house band at Sesame Street's jazz nightclub Birdland, this jazz combo centers on saxophonist Hoots the Owl and his granddaughter, MC/aspiring scat singer Athena. They appear in several sketches on Sesame Street starting 2 Jan. 1987.
While the membership seemed to fluctuate, regular members included Hoots, Leo Birdelli (bass), and the feline Muppets Chip and Dip (piano and drums).
