British New Wave band mentioned by Strong Bad in his "old comics" cartoon (August 30, 2004) on the Homestar Runner web site. He says the New York town West Islip, and thinks it sounds like a band name.
"Coming in this week at number four its those androgynous boys from Hertfordshire, West Is Lip, with their hit "She Partied Without Dancing." Then a short bit of their song is played, and the cassette of their album, The Singles, can be seen if the screen is clicked.
A poster of the band is glimpsed in Strong Sad's room in the "Baddest of the Bands" episode of the video game Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People.
