Parody of fictional singer Esther Hoffman in SCTV's parody of the 1976 film A Star Is Born (28 January 1983). Played by real singer Crystal Gayle. Originally in the duo Big Momma and Esther, fading alcoholic rock star John Norman Mane encourages her to go solo and jump-starts her career.
Her name is that of the original character in the 1937 film. However, in the 1937 version, Blodgett is an actress, not a singer.
