Sean Penn (in full-on Robert Smith hair and makeup) plays this middle-aged former goth-rocker in the 2011 drama film This Must Be the Place. His band, Cheyenne and the Fellows, was inspired by Siouxsie and the Banshees.

Cheyenne gave up performing after his music influenced two brothers to commit suicide in 1988, and is a meek, shambling, guilt-ridden wreck.

David Byrne of The Talking Heads has a cameo as himself, and was a friend of Cheyenne's back in the day. The title of the film comes from a Talking Heads song.
