Tonalizer Toomorrow.jpg

Original effects box created by keyboardist and tech tinkerer Vic of the fictional band Toomorrow, from the obscure 1970 film of the same name.

Unbeknownst to Vic and the band, this device is giving off super exciting vibes to the alien Alphoids who are secretly monitoring the Earth.

They’re so into it, they kidnap the band to turn them into Alphoids and take them back to their home planet. However, they tragically realize that it’s way, way, waaaay too early in the film for that and there hasn’t been nearly enough plot-padding shenanigans.

So the band escapes their spaceship in the aptly named escape pod. Almost too on-the-nose there, hunh? Back on Earth, the band promptly ignores their whole mind-blowing-encounter-with-alien-life-thing to get on with said tedious shenanigans involving getting to their gig on time.

And getting all their gear loaded. And Vic’s on-again, off-again girlfriend. And two aliens disguised as humans. And old people jokes about student protests. And getting their gear UNloaded.

Once said shenanigans are finally, FINALLY done, the band plays the gig (with tonalizer of course) and the aliens decide to just kidnap the band AND the entire festival crowd because, vibes, man.

Fortunately, they just sort of bootleg the concert and broadcast it back to their home planet and then return everyone with their memories wiped.
