They were listed in a briefly glimpsed Music Bizz magazine top ten in the "In Search of The Stolen Album" episode (October 11, 1986) of animated cartoon series Jem.

Jem shows the list in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment near the end of the episode to show that Jem and the Holograms' new album has hit #1. Tom Potty and the Headbreakers are in the number 10 spot.

The name is a parody of real band Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
