Violinist Albert Dorrin is rejected by the "World's Symphony Orchestra." He vows revenge and dubs himself "the Spirit of Mad Music." From the "Music of Madness" story of Wow Comics #35 (April 1945).

He drives random concert musicians temporarily insane by rosining their bows with "an alcohol derivative and concentrate of benzedrine" until stopped by superheroes Mr. Scarlet and Pinky.
