Real rockabilly band Jimmy and the Mustangs portray this high school rock combo in Every Which Way But Loose director James Fargo's 1984 b-movie spoof The Voyage of the Rock Aliens.
For the movie, Craig Sheffer played Frankie, the band's leader. He was involved with Dee Dee (Pia Zadora), an aspiring singer who wants to perform with the band. The climax of the film involves a battle of the bands between The Pack and the rock aliens (portrayed by real new wave band Rhema).
