A string ensemble that arose, phoenix-like, from the crime-ridden city of Salford to play on the Smiths' masterpiece, The Queen Is Dead (1986). Or possibly they were a fake band created to disguise the fact that the lush string accompaniments to songs like "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out" were created by guitarist Johnny Marr on an E-mu Emulator.
