Rock band with a grudge against band Black Canary, because they got dropped by their label after their Detroit gig with Black Canary turned bad. They're recruited to play a battle of the bands against them by a member of other grudge-having band, Duchess.

The name is a reference to the Golden Age Black Canary villain, Banko Jim, a bank robber who tried to frame Black Canary for murder in Flash Comics #90 (December 1947).
