Band planned by young saxophonist Horace Snupe of Punkenville, USA, in the "Pied Piper of Punkenville" story of Headline Comics vol. 2, no. 7 (#19, May-Jun 1946).
This gives protagonist Carrot Topp the idea to get an instrument, but all he can afford is a pawn store flute. Somehow he manages to attract dogs with it, then a lion.
