Possibly Randy Watson and Sexual Chocolate; it's unclear. Eddie Murphy played singer Randy Watson and several other characters in the 1988 film Coming to America. The band was a sort of 1970s soul-type band. They did a terrible version of the Whitney Houston hit, "The Greatest Love of All."
