While at a party thrown by a wealthy collector of musical instruments, Gletz is spurned by his girlfriend for being a loser. Testing out a trumpet once belonging to serial killer/talented trumpeter [[The Cajun Man]], he is possessed/haunted/badgered by the dead man's spirit. Given a supernatural boost in the talent department, in six months Gletz goes from "Unheard of six months ago, and now leader of the greatest band in the country!" But he has to kill to keep the spirit happy and the talent flowing. He finally gets caught and hanged.
