From Norman Spinrad's 1987 sci-fi novel, Little Heroes. A virtual rock star, or AP (artificial personality) created by voxbox artist Sally Genaro and graphics whiz Bobby Rubin with prodding from Glorianna O'Toole.
One of his hits is "Your Rock and Roll Machine."
