Sweet Peggy Smash Comics.png

Radio singer from the "Singing Swindle!" story of comic book Smash Comics #85 (October 1949).

Her noxious comic-relief agent, "Percentage" Graftly, isn't taking his ten percent, he's taking 100 percent of her earnings. That earns him a visit from hero Midnight (really WXBC radio/TV announcer Dave Clark), who strong-arms Graftly into giving Sweet her money back.

But that's only half the story.

When Graftly learns Clark was involved (without figuring out he's Midnight), Graftly crafts a scam to embarrass him: "The Mystery Singer."
