Fictional Ohio blues guitarist of the 1950s and 1960s from the 1989 album Cincinnati's Finest. It was perpetrated by real musician Danny Adler of real band Roogalator. Adler recorded some blues tracks in 1986, but when he couldn't get them released, he somehow hit on the idea of attributing them to this fictional, deceased African American bluesman. He got blues label Flyright Records to buy the story, acting as a "representative" of Gilmore's widow, Mrs. Aldretta Gilmore. Flyright released the album in 1989, but when they found out it was a hoax, they pulled the album and sued Adler.

The Otis Elevator Company, from which Adler took the name, has been around since 1853. Comedians Cheech and Chong invented a musician called Otis Elevator all the way back in 1972.
