Merle Haggard-y country singer/songwriter/guitarist/alcoholic played by Jeff Bridges in the 2009 drama film Crazy Heart. On the downswing after his earlier fame, he finds himself opening for former protégé Tommy Sweet.

His backup band is Tony and the Renegades.
