Musical instrument of non-human origin, mentioned briefly in the 1982 comic science fiction novel Life, the Universe and Everything by Douglas Adams. Human character Slartibartfast was hoping to learn to play one in his retirement.

Slartibartfast had hoped for an easy retirement.

He had been planning to learn to play the octaventral heebiephone, a pleasantly futile task, he knew, because he had the wrong number of mouths.
