Famous swing bandleader from the short Blowhard McDuff short story "Hot Stuff," from teen comic book Ozzie and Babs #5 (October 1948). Written by R.R. Symes, a pseudonym for Rod Reed.

An unscrupulous promoter advertises has McDuff's combo opening for Oakie Sherman and his orchestra, but it's a scam, and he never booked Sherman.

His name is a parody of real swing bandleader and clarinetist Woody Herman.
