Cute, cat-apple hybrid mascot for the Japanese city of Kuroishi who also just happens to crush the drums like some kind of mad epic rock god.

A video of him/it drumming to the theme to the anime television show Soreike! Anpanman went viral when tweeted by music biz person Eric Alper on October 2, 2018 with the caption "When you're overqualified for the job." But Mr. Star has been around since at least 2015, when his first YouTube video was posted.

His name is a Japanese pun on the name of Beatles drummer Ringo Starr and a combination of the Japanese words for apple ("ringo") and meow ("nyan"). Kuroishi grows a lot of apples, so, apple-themed mascot (“yuru-chara” in Japan)!

Circa 2017, he joined or formed the band Charamel with several other mascots.
