Suburban mom Annie Hackett (Dyan Cannon) sings on the side, and comes to the attention of record execs. She records a demo version of one of her songs, after Darcy X (Heather Locklear), the temperamental star who was supposed to do it, leaves in a huff. Annie's version becomes a hit!
