Disaffected classical pianist and faculty member at the school of music at Mitchell University in the short story "Concerto in A-Flat" by Howard Mumford Jones, first published in literary magazine The Smart Set, volume 64, no. 4 (April 1921). She plays at a faculty recital at a school auditorium. She plays a Chopin nocturne and the "De Profundis" prelude by Balfour Gardiner.
