He keeps playing off key, but everything sounds fine to him. His career takes a hit, and he goes to the doctor who tells him he needs a brain operation or he'll die in three months. His wife Stella calls in psychiatrist Winthrop, who is Marko's childhood friend. Winthrop convinces Marko he has a gift, and should get the operation. Winthrop appears to him right before the operation, reassuring him, but it turns out he died far at sea and the surgeon's didn't operate as Marko's brain lesion had healed itself.
