Rockabilly singer from Elia Kazan's great 1957 movie A Face in the Crowd. Larry "Lonesome" Rhodes (Andy Griffith) is a Arkansas drifter who is discovered in jail by radio producer Marcia Jeffries (Patricia Neal). His rock and roll success lays the groundwork for his expansion into advertising and politics. He gets his own influential television show, but is undone when a certain person turns on the mic during the credits while Rhodes is badmouthing his supporters.

He sings "Free Man in the Morning," "A Face In The Crowd," "Mama Guitar," "Just Plain Folks."

The screenplay was based on Bud Schulberg's short story "Your Arkansas Traveler" (published in a 1953 collection, Some Faces in the Crowd) where the character's name was the same.
