Tucker Lilli Rulah Jungle Goddess.png

Nightclub singer looking to jazz up her act in "The Concert of the Apes" story of comic book Rulah, Jungle Goddess #24 (March 1949).

She sings at the exclusive Jade Club (in New York City), but is worried when the audience makes insulting comments about her singing, and decides she needs to revamp her act. So she flies to Africa to visit the jungle and get some new musical ideas. Jungle guide and fan Thompson Bates takes to hear the Ragallis tribe, famous for their tribal chants. However, while spending the night with the tribe, they are kidnapped by a surprisingly well-coordinated group of large apes.

In desperation, Lilli tries to soothe the savage beasts with music, and it works! The apes let them go, and months later Thompson reads a letter from Lilli that she's a smash hit again. But none of his tour guide co-workers believe his ape story.
