Successful violinist murdered by The Phantom Troubador in the "Troubador of Terror" story in The Human Torch comic book, Vol. 1, #31 (July, 1948). The Sub-Mariner is too late to prevent him from being murdered at Briggs' concert at a waterfront amphitheater.

He was the co-composer of the popular song "Death in Venice," along with Vladimir Borsch and Jim and Luella Clegget.
