"...singing star of stage, screen and radio, and her sensational tour of our front-line positions..." from the "Case No. 17: Guns and Glamor" story of comic book National Comics #43 (August 1944). Army intelligence officer Don Leash (who'e really costumed hero G-2), is assigned to protect Joy on her WWII USO tour in the Pacific. But the Japanese soldiers have heard of her arrival and send a small force to kidnap her to lure the local US troops into an ambush. But G-2 sneaks into their camp, overhears the plans, frees Joy, and tricks the two groups of Japanese into firing on each other.
