All-girl pop-rock band from the 1986 animated TV series Jem. Jem is the lead singer. Other members are Kimber, Aja, and Shana. They all looked like Barbies, basically. Jem and the Holograms' rival bands were The Misfits (not to be confused with the real punk band) and The Stingers.

Fun fact: the woman who provided Jem's singing voice (Britta Phillips of Luna and Dean and Britta) was also a member of another fake band, Jennie Lee and the Mystery.

A poster for Jem appears in the background of an episode of the animated Japanese TV series Super-God Masterforce cartoon episode "Lightfoot: A Dramatic Encounter," linking the Jem universe with the Transformers universe.

In 2015, the band returned in a poorly received live-action origin story. Jem was played by Aubrey Peeples, who also portrayed a fake musician in the ABC musical drama show Nashville.
