In the "Love, American Dad Style" episode of animated sitcom American Dad! (first aired 30 Sept. 2012), main character Hayley Smith (voiced by Rachael MacFarlane) is discovered by Roger the alien and becomes a torch singer. Hijinks then predictably ensue. No mention of the fact that she was already a children's musician earlier in the series.

Two of the songs Hayley sings during the episode also appear on MacFarlane's critically unloved debut album, Hayley Sings (2012). Yes, she recorded an album that's credited to herself, but named for her character. This is getting close to Monkees-style "are they real or not" territory.
