Fictional instrument invented by hapless Gaston Lagaffe, hero of an eponymous comic strip created by André Franquin. It first appeared in a March 9, 1967 strip published in the Belgian comics magazine Spirou.

It is capable of such cacophony that it can damage buildings.

Spirou held a contest for readers to build a real gaffophone, resulting in numerous entries.
