"The greatest musician of all time" and the primary antagonist of the 2017 Disney/Pixar animated film Coco. The singer and guitarist (voiced by Benjamin Bratt) was exceptionally popular and appeared in films in the 1930s and 1940s. His biggest hit, beloved by the film's protagonist Miguel, was "Remember Me." Miguel wants to be a musician like Ernesto.
He was killed on stage in 1942 when a bell fell on him.
