Lonnie Slocum's band from Baja Oklahoma, (novel by Dan Jenkins), 1981. They have a hit with the song "Baja Oklahoma," written by barmaid at Herb's Cafe in South Fort Worth turned songwriter Juanita Hutchins.

The novel was turned into a 1988 HBO made-for-tv movie with the same title. Real musician Billy Vera (Billy Vera and the Beaters) played Lonnie Slocum.
