Swing/jazz/dance band from the 1940 film Second Chorus. Leader/trumpeter Danny O'Neill (Fred Astaire!) avoids graduating college so he can keep leading this band. His other trumpeter and pal is Hank Taylor (Burgess Meredith).
Real bandleader Artie Shaw, playing himself, steals away their manager, Ellen Miller (Paulette Goddard), leading to shenanigans of O'Neill and Taylor trying to join Shaw's band.
