Fictional musicians with masks.

There have been several real masked singers:

  • "The Man in the Silver Mask," or "The Silver Masked Tenor," on radio in the 1920s (really Joe White)
  • "The Traveling Texan, the Masked Singer of Folk Songs," of the early 1950s (really Billy Walker)
  • Actor David Soul began his career as the ski-mask clad "Covered Man," appearing on The Merv Griffin in 1966 and 1967.
  • Orion, late 1970s Elvis impersonator
