Unfortunately, Brando is the aging valet of famous, ill-tempered, ambitious violinist Jan DeVere. DeVere has taken all the credit for the compositions. When Brando begs for credit for the pieces, DeVere chokes him for his troubles. Later, when DeVere sinks into poverty and madness, he fires Brando, and his fate is not shown.
