No, not THE Beethoven. This is the nickname (and only name given) for an overweight beatnik pianist and gunrunner who backs up partner Bebop Betty while she sends secret messages in code while playing trumpet. From "The Bedeviled Bebop" story in Superior Publishers comic book Bruce Gentry #6 (May 1949). They play in a South American club called La Cucaracha. Hero Bruce Gentry gets wise to their scheme and helps local law enforcement Lt. Gomez bust up the gunrunners.
