From the 1974 film Phantom of the Paradise. New singer that music mogul Swan (Paul Williams) chooses to sing at the opening of his beloved new concert hall, The Paradise. His hard-rock, womanizing on-stage persona is shown to be a lie, as offstage he acts like a homosexual caricature. Ah, cheap irony.

His first performance is his last, as after he sings "Life at Last," fronting The Undead, he is killed onstage by the Phantom of the title.
