Appalachian fiddler who played on albums by Snug and the Cousin Huggers, Lead Paint Larry and the Drooly Boys, Howlin' Sue and Her Vestigial Organ, and Bloody Mary and the Coalmine Canaries. Mentioned as part of a sight gag in the "Gal of Constant Sorrow" episode of long-running animated sitcom The Simpsons (first aired 21 Feb. 2016). He's the father of homeless guitarist/singer Hettie Mae Boggs.
