Then-controversial, now kind of fading (yeah, we said it—come get us!)* rapper Eminem plays this Detroit white trash rapper-wannabe in the semi-autobiographical movie 8 Mile (2002). Rabbit, whose birth name is Jimmy Smith, Jr. struggles for self respect and a way out of grinding poverty at the weekly rap contest. His victory comes when he verbally beats down rich rappers The Free World.
