Swing combo hired to play Ginger Snapp's freshman prom in the Ginger story of Zip Comics #38 (July 1943). Part of the deal is he can stay at Snapp's house so he doesn't have to shell out for a hotel. He wears out his welcome fast with his brash self: playing loud music, breaking dishes and glasses while playing them, and ruining Ginger's prom dress. Ginger and her parents hatch a scheme and paint Ginger's face so it looks like she has measles. Clive flees, and the more sedate Maestro Metronome and his Classical Quintet play the prom instead.
