Linda Lavin played this aspiring nightclub singer in the long-running sitcom Alice (1976-1985). After working as a waitress in a greasy spoon for nine seasons, she finally gets a recording contract in the series finale, "Th-th-th-that's All Folks" (19 Mar. 1985).
